Cathleen Galas


Cathleen Galas is currently the founder and president of Galas Consulting, an educational consulting firm specializing in K-12 science and math teaching and learning, curriculum development, assessment, and technology integration. Galas previously taught at UCLA, in the UCLA laboratory school of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA, and in GSEIS at UCLA. Galas launched one of the first school websites in the US at the UCLA Lab School in the fall of 1995.
Her research work at UCLA includes several multi-year NSF projects in science education and technology, as well as a virtual world science education project collaboration with GSE at Harvard University. She is an active participant and presenter at local, national, and international venues for various educational organizations. Galas has written and co-written numerous articles and publications, including Managing Information in the Digital Age, an information literacy curriculum that serves as the foundation for project-based learning.
Galas consults with various organizations and school districts, in curriculum development, assessment, technology integration, and professional development.
