Kathleen Harness

Kathleen Harness works as a member of the EtoysIllinois team in the Office for Mathematics, Science, and Technology Education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Their web site, EtoysIllinois.org, contains a collection of Etoys projects and lesson materials written to increase the use of Etoys by students and teachers in schools and by curious minds at home.

EtoysIllinois has introduced Etoys to students, teachers, school systems and the wider community in classrooms, clubs, computer camps, and at state and national conferences in science and mathematics.

Kathleen wrote the Quick Guides with Kim Rose and Ted Kaehler. These interactive guides introduce 60 basic Etoys tools and techniques.

She has a BS and MS in Music Education from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and taught music for 33 years in Champaign Schools. She currently teaches elementary school Enrichment with an emphasis on Etoys. She has an abiding enthusiasm for theme and variations: musical, mathematical, and visual.
