Students are taught about Boyle-Charles' Law.
This is an excellent model. Well explained in the "About" tab, and a wonderful way to make visible something that is a very intangible concept for students.
Nice gas model. I think it would be better to call "KedamaWorld'sgravity" "ceiling'sForce" because you are balancing the force of the ceiling with the force of the gas pressure.
Great illustration. I feel like I really understand this for the first time, since I can play with it and see it. Classic Etoys
In my mind, the ceiling does not exert force, but it is pulled by the gravity. A technical problem also is that KedamaWorld's variables is global so there there is only one gravity value in the system (which is what it is). OTOH, a turtle's variable is "its own"; each turtle has its own value for the variable. So, while it is a constant and all turtles can have the same value for the variable, in my mind it "feels" a bit awkward when a global property like "gravity" is turtles own variable. (Well, one could argue that gravity isn't global^^; but that is out of scope of this simulation.)
