Mice, Books
Make sure you select your language in the Etoys tool bar. If it is English or Spanish, most text will appear in your language. There are several small projects within this one. Each one uses a feature of Etoys we wish to learn.
Carlos, This is by far your best tutorial yet. Very interesting stuff. I need to take some more time to go through it all. It took me a while to figure out I need to click on the flashing dots and hold the mouse button down. Great example of Mouse Enter with the pictures changing in the box above. Thanks for all your efforts.
Thank you for your comments and encouragement, Mr. Steve. I wouldn´t call these tutorials; I´m not a teacher, I am just trying to show how I learn and hopefully convince children and teachers that maybe is not that easy and takes time and effort but it is within anyone´s reach. As and answer to your comments about holding down the mouse I changed the instructions on the front cover.
Carlos, well it has definitely shown what perseverance can do and how a little effort can lead to great things. I applaud your efforts to reflect on your own learning process. That in itself is a great lesson for all. I realize that some have the perception the Etoys is not easy to learn. I would say that is only because they have not had a proper introduction and set of Tutorials and/or learning guides. I would appreciate your observations (and those of others) on the problems teachers are having (Etoys related and probably more importantly non Etoys related.) , In particular the educational desires that they are motivate to achieved. Perhaps once we better understand the hopes and wishes, along with the problems and challenges, of Teachers we will be able to design better Etoys, tutorials and instructional aides to support them.
A good way to stimulate curiosity and interest for Etoys. Each approch is worthwhile, textual documentation, little sample projects, challenges, building games ... .
