Este proyecto lo encontramos en el sitio de Plan Ceibal.

http://www.ceibal.edu.uy/contenidos/areas_conocimiento/mat/operacionescombinadas/proyecto_etoys.html

We asked the author to tell us about himself:

Who is Rodolfo Converso? (English Translation)

This will be great training for the gameshow "Countdown". I like the sound, graphics, clear layout and simple instructions.

Negative points are frustrating (and perhaps confusing at this level of numeracy.) The incorrect answer disappears too quickly to work out your mistake.

This is a nice project idea! Unfortunately, I sometimes get challenged with tasks I'm not able to resolve. Since I do not read spanish, I don't know if I have to identify these impossible tasks somehow.

Nice layout, good use of Game Mechanics. The problems appear to be generated based on an incrementing counter. Perhaps a version where you could specify the order of problems to show patterns. ex: 4 _ (1 _ 9) = 40
4 _ (9 _ 1) = 40
4 _ (2 _ 8) = 40
4 _ (8 _ 2) = 40 etc.

or 3 _ 2 _ 1 = 6, 2 _ 1 _ 3 = 6, 1 _ 2 _ 3 = 6
or 3 _ 2 _ 4 = 24, 2 _ 4 _ 3 = 24. ...

You could also have a timer like "Mad Minute Math" where kids are given a worksheet and have one minute to complete as many problems as possible. (would make a great Etoy (I have a version, but it needs work) While I generally prefer learning environments that facilitate understanding of Mathematical concepts over "drill and practice" there is an important place (providing the concept is introduced first) for practice. I had a teacher suggest 5 problems a day to help my son who has a good grasp of the mathematical concepts but often makes silly operational mistakes.
